A Post...finally!

Hello All... more specifically, those who still bother coming to check and see if I will EVER blog again! We're still alive. Just busy. Sometimes life just takes you away, and it's hard to get back into the groove of things. So get ready for a super random post and recap of the last...hmmm...let's see, 3 1/2 months!

So just to make your mouth water, I had to post a picture of the yummy cake I MADE, yes...I made it for Nick's 28th birthday back in November and I was so proud of myself...because, it was so delicious! He had a great birthday celebrating with family and friends. Sorry, no pics of that, just the CAKE (obviously it was the most important part of his birthday :) ).

Okay..So, Christmas this year we went to San Diego. My dear Grandfather celebrated his 90th birthday on Christmas Eve and my side of the family decided to all head down to San Diego to spend Christmas there. Here are some pictures of the handsome man who turned 90! One with a bunch of us at a softball game, and the other is of my Grandparent's wedding day. So sweet! Doesn't my Grandmother look beautiful?

So since we were heading to southern Cali for Christmas vacation, we all decided to spend Christmas day at the "happiest place on earth." Or so we thought...and were told! It was really fun for Jack to be there and see Mickey Mouse and ride some awesome rides. He really loved seeing and meeting Buzz Lightyear (his current hero) and Nick and I loved seeing how happy and excited he was to be there. (We'd been telling him we were going since the summer when he was potty trained). So he had been patiently waiting. Phoebe is still a little young to appreciate it, but I'm sure she will someday. But...for Nick and I we just had a rude awakening that day. First of all, it was soo super crowded, like crazy crowded on Christmas Day!!! I don't like crowds...it kind of makes me feel claustrophobic and Nick and I were exhausted from carrying kids, pushing strollers, and holding both kids while waiting in lines by the end of the day. We had fun...but maybe Disneyland should wait till our kids are plenty old enough to walk themselves and appreciate it more. So...there, that's what we learned. Carrie doesn't like crowds, Nick likes more traditional traditions for Christmas day, and Jack and Phoebe need to grow a little more before we head back to Disneyland!

Here's us, by the end of our long day!

We did have tons of fun with family that week. We threw a big party for my Grandad with family and friends to celebrate his 90th. Unfortunately our camera was not charged half the week...so, we have no pictures on our camera of the party fun.
But we did manage to snap a few shots during a trip we took to the beach. My Dad was so cute with Jack and his cousins building this awesome sand castle. We played volleyball and soaked up some sun. It was a much needed, fun vacation!

So...please stay tuned. I promise to post again soon about our exciting life!
