Updates anyone...Updates!

I know it's been a while since I've given a good update, so I believe the time has come! As many of you already know, Nick and I have had an interesting past few months with a few ups and downs and we've learned quite a bit!

Nick lost his job in March, due to an angry and dishonest employer that didn't like the fact that Nick wouldn't be dishonest with him, so he let him go (which is a nicer way to say, he got fired)! I was very proud of Nick during this whole time, for doing the right thing even though it was very hard to not be supporting our family. He wasn't afraid to stick up for his values and do the right thing, even though it was very hard. He spent every single day for the next month and a half applying for jobs! He averaged 5 jobs a day that he applied for online and over the phone, we went to the Temple as often as possible, and had the support of wonderful family and friends! Luckily we also had a good savings built up and food storage, so we were able to be just fine! We felt very blessed through this entire experience and knew we would be okay and things would work out. Nick now has a good job, a much better job than before working with HADCO construction as an estimator/project manager. He loves his new job and the atmosphere it provides! We know the Lord hears and answers prayers and that some trials are put in our pathway to give us the opportunity to choose...afterall, this life is a test isn't it!

I have been staying busy trying to find ways to save money for our family. We have recently purchased a Costco card which I am very proud of and happy to be saving money on items we can buy in bulk, etc. I have also been putting my creative cap on, and have had fun sewing and making a few projects that I also posted about. Jack and Phoebe have me wrapped around their little fingers and I enjoy every minute that I am blessed to be their mother! We have fun during the day, going to the park, coloring, playing with playdough, singing songs, cooking, watching phoebe turn in slow circles on her back, and reading good books! I've also taken up to running...well, let's be honest, more like jogging, but it's a challenge that I am starting to enjoy! Nick and I also had the opportunity to be County and State Delegates for the Republican Party here in Utah. It has been a neat experience to be involved with choosing the republic candidates that will represent us here in Utah!

Jack is talking up a storm!! Holy cow, this kid never stops!! But I love it...he keeps me truly entertained. He loves talking about trains lately, he puts his toys into lines throughout the house as if they are all train cars connected and chugging away. He loves motors (anything that makes noise) especially the blender! The blender makes fruit and spinach smoothies often for him which he also loves! (It's a good way to get him to eat veggies) He is liking having Phoebe around to take care of...he often gives to her, her passy and tries to share his toys with her. It's fun watching them interact more and more every day. Jack is a happy guy! He is so sweet and so friendly to everyone he meets! Jack is now sleeping in a "big boy bed" aka a low twin bed, and actually enjoys it quite a bit!

Phoebe is growing every day! She is now 5 1/2 months, wearing 6-9 month clothes. She can rollover and turn in circles on her back. She loves grabbing her feet and putting them in her mouth (it's a bad habit :) ) She is very patient with Jack who is always in her face talking, sometimes very loudly! She is all smiles though! She smiles at everyone and seems to be very friendly as well. Sometimes she's picky about who feeds her though...it's quite funny. But I enjoy having a girl in the house with me! Especially since she has just shown an interest in dancing! Yes, if we want Phoebe to stop crying, have someone dance in front of her...she'll stop! She loves watching her little cousins dance! She moves her feet to the rhythm and loves to kick those little legs I believe we have a future dancer on our hands! Yay! Like mother...like daughter!

  2. Wow! Go Nick! Isn't it awesome that when we have savings and food storage, everything turns out just fine! You were so blessed because you were obedient! Are you guys still in Provo? We might be coming up there in a few years...
